YES. . . we are having the Tack Swap at Orangevale Park on Sunday, April 27th.  WE WILL NOT BE MOVING THE EVENT TO THE RAIN DATE.

Everything is good at the Orangevale Park Horse Arena.

8th Annual Tack Swap and Vendors

Sunday, April 27, 2025   

9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

To be held at: Orangevale Park Horse Arena

The address for the horse arena is: 7301 Filbert Avenue in Orangevale. When traveling north or south on Sierra College Blvd/Hazel Avenue, turn onto Oak Avenue (go east). At the stop light, turn right onto Filbert Avenue. Just past the Green Oaks School will be a driveway on the right hand side. Turn right. This driveway will take you to the Orangevale Park Horse Arena (you will not be able to see the arena when you are on Filbert). This is a beautiful park – the arena is surrounded by trees and green lawn.

In case of rain or bad weather, the event will be moved to the rain date of Sunday, May 11th.

This will be a TWO-DAY EVENT at Orangevale Park!  Bring a horse the day before on Saturday for the OBSTACLE TRAIL CHALLENGE.  Age division awards, in-hand division awards, judges’ shout out awards, and a separate JACKPOT OBSTACLE competition to win $ $ MONEY $ $. 

Come back the next day for the TACK SWAP!

10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  –  HALTER Project Founder, Julie Atwood.

TOPIC:  “Equine Emergency Preparedness Workshop”.  All attendees will get a FREE Barn and Ranch Safety Workbook to take home!

12:15 to 1:00 p.m. – Large Animal Rescue Specialists from the El Dorado County Sheriff Search and Rescue Group will conduct a hands-on demonstration.

TOPIC:  “What to do When an Equine is Down and What to do in an Accident Involving Equines”

They will be there from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with breakfast items, lunch items, hot and cold drinks . . . PLUS desserts, freeze dried candy, sourdough bread, etc.!

  • Tacos Las Reyes (Taco Truck will have tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, asada fries; breakfast burritos, mini pancakes with a variety of toppings available, and hot coffee)
  • Will’s Catering (BBQ Trailer will have smoked pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches, potato salad, chips, brownies, cupcakes, lemonades, iced tea, Redbull, and bottled waters)
  • Black Lotus Artisanal Bakery (will have cheesecake, Rice Krispy treats, cookies, pastries, cakes, etc.)
  • Madison Halpin (will have coffee and donuts)
  • Swank’ee Sweets (will have freeze dried candy and cookies)
  • The Big Bore Ranch (will have homemade sourdough bread, cookies + more)

Tack Swap and Vendors: 

Do you have something to sell?  A business you want to promote?  A service you want people to know about?  

Open to all NEW and USED  horse and livestock tack, equipment, show supplies, pet supplies, ranch supplies, grooming products, services, and miscellaneous.  Business vendors also welcome!

10′ x 10′ space is only $10.00 if entered on or before Thursday, April 24th.  Entries after that date or on the actual day of the event, the 10′ x 10′ space will be $20.00.

All entries will be taken on a first come, first served basis . . . so be sure to enter early.

You will need to bring your own table(s) and/or other item(s) that you use to display your merchandise, a pop-up canopy if you desire, etc.  

All vendors will be located outdoors on the green lawn in the park – there will be no cover or electricity for your designated space. You will need to bring your own table, chairs, equipment, pop-up canopy if desired (must be securely anchored), etc. Each vendor is responsible for set-up, tear down, and leaving the area in the same condition that he/she found it. Vendors must be set-up no later than 9:00 a.m. (set-up starts at 7:30 a.m.). Any vendor needing to drive to or near their space to unload items will be allowed to quickly unload and then must move the vehicle to the designated parking lot. This will be strictly enforced. Vendors must stay for the entire event (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). At 3:00 p.m., vendors will be allowed to drive their vehicle to or near their space to reload any and all items (this will include garbage and/or any items vendor deems to be garbage). All items you still have in your booth must be hauled home with you.

To get a vendor space, print off the entry form and mail the completed entry form with payment . . .   OR  . . .  go to the  “PAY ON LINE” tab and click on the “TACK SWAP” box to enter and pay on-line.

Cow Chip Bingo:  Will start at 11:00 a.m. and end no later than 2:45 p.m.  “Bingo” 3’x3′ squares will be sold for $10.00.  Whatever square the “cow pie” lands in, the purchaser of that square will be the winner.  Winner will receive $2,000 (or one-half of the total received from ticket sales if all of the 410 squares did not sell).  WINNER DOES NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN.   We really would like to have all of the Cow Chip Bingo tickets (squares) sold prior to the event.   NOTE:  For the past three years . . . ALL OF THE COW CHIP BINGO TICKETS were sold prior to the day of the event.

Raffle Drawing:  Drawing will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Lots of super great raffle prizes!  Tickets can be purchased prior to the event, as well as at the event all the way up to 1:00 p.m. One ticket for $5.00 or five tickets for $20.00.  There are four GRAND PRIZES listed on the ticket – WINNER DOES NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN.

  • One Ton (20 Bales) of Alfalfa Hay or Pasture Grass Hay or Alfalfa Rye Mix Hay – $440 – donated by Lund Farm in Rio Oso.
  • 2-Day, 2-Night – Wine Tasting (4 – 5 wineries in El Dorado County) and Whitewater Rafting Trip for One Person – South Fork American River – donated by Tributary Whitewater Tours in Lotus, CA (on Hwy 49 between Auburn and Placerville). 

OR the winner can choose from a list of four other 2-Day, 2-Night Specialty Rafting Trips – maximum value $400: 

(1) Raft, Camp, & Soak in Hot Springs – East Fork Carson River                         

(2) 2-Day Ropes Course & River Rafting – South Fork American River  

(3) Art on the American -White Water Rafting and Creativity Weekend Retreat – South Fork American River

(4) Yoga & Rafting Weekend Retreat – South Fork American River

OR the winner can convert this prize certificate to a $300 Tributary Whitewater gift card to use on any other rafting trip or a Half-Day or Full-Day rafting excursion. 

All of the other raffle prizes (and there will be a lot), the winner must be present to win.

Silent Auction:  Will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.  There will be lots of super great items to bid on!  Come bid for some really great bargains!  All items must be paid for by 2:00 p.m. that day.

 

 new      TICKETS:  You can purchase Raffle Tickets (1 for $5.00 or 5 for $20.00) and Cow Chip Bingo Tickets ($10.00 each) in advance of this event.  Go to “Pay On Line” and then click on the “Tack Swap” box.  The tickets will be mailed to you.
